gong gong's death

well.. at least things are settled now. hmm.. i actually did go to china. but for one day. not a laughing matter but i did.

15th september 2005 (friday)
0530hrs: 8 of us left home for changi airport to fly to chengdu, capital of si chuan province.
arrived chengdu at around 1230hrs and went straight to lunch eating si chuan 'dim sum'
well.. checked into hotel and went straight to chun xi road for shopping. a place where you must definately go for shopping when you go to chengdu.
had dinner at the hotel that night and prepared luggage to fly to Jiu Zhai Gou the next morning.

16th september 2005 (saturday)
0430hrs: (time supposedly to wake up to go airport to catch the 0720 flight up the jiu zhai gou)
this is the time when i received a phone call on my local mobile phone number actually calling from singapore. this was the time where istarted to ponder on what happened. how on earth that i would receive a phone call from home so early. it was my dad who called.
here is the story.
after 19 over years of my life, i hear that my beloved maternal grandfather has left us to be with the lord. he passed away at around 0400 hours that morning after spending almost the last 10 months in coma. =(.. well.. what to do.. all our plans and hope to finish this journey to jiu zhai gou have failed. we have to go home already after spending just less than one day in china.
BO BIAN LOR... what can we do right? sigh~
so we informed the tour agency that 6 of us family members have to return to singapore immediately.
well.. after much hassle. in the end we took the 8pm flight by air china back to singapore.
arrived slightly after midnight.

17th september 2006 (sunday)
woke up at around 9am, proceeded straight to singapore casket to see my grandfather's wake at ruby room, 4th floor.
had alot of guests there den.

20th september 2006 (wednesday)
woke up at singapore casket, spending the night there with my grandfather. all the grandchildren were with him less the ang mo kia's.
0930hrs: last encoffining service for gong gong. den we had the send off to mandai crematorium hall 1 @ 1000hrs.
1045hrs: final service den followed by my final thankyou speech for all over there. had my chance to get to speak to so manie of my family and friends and relatives from abroad. i'm proud that i wrote and made my own speech all by myself. didnt had good output due to mics that were too sensitive.
1120hrs: a very sad send off to see the coffin being sent into the furnace. ='( my heart really hurts... gong gong... i bid the final good bye to you!

21st september 2006 (thursday)
0500hrs: 8 of us... grandmother, uncle, aunty and cousins and me went back to miri, sarawak as we were the advanced party to go back. i havent been to miri for ages which i was dying to go since 4yrs ago. many changes happened there.
my main purpose of returning to miri is to witness gong gong ashes being put buried in the cemetry.

22nd september 2006 (friday)
1330hrs: the final party including my parents arrived at miri airport together with my oldest uncle and with him, my grandfather's ashes indie an urn. we then headed to the foochow christian cemetry (miri gospel chapel) in the cenetry area in miri. den we noticed the burial of my grandfather.

23rd september 2006 (saturday)
woke up early in the morning today and went shopping looking for my new specs... but too bad i did not find a suitable.. lucky ah... saved money.
went for my favourite wan ton mee for lunch den left for the airport to catch the 1420 flight to kuching den to johore bahru.
when i arrived kuching, it was only 1520hrs den we had to wait for the next flight back to johore barhru at 1755hrs. it was ruite a period of time that i had to kill. but i managed to kill it and fly back.

well.. my maternal grandfather is survived by his 4 children, 10 grandchildren and lastly 3 great-grandchildren. =)

lastly, my competition has been postponed to the 1st of october. i look forward to it... =)

just got back from supper.... rather tired already.. i want to go and sleep already. *yawnx* now i got to recuperate.. its been rather tiring.. havent got to rest welll...
