blog entry for 270807

went to the licensing centre early this morning to get the car transferred. This time the transfer fee was rather cheap. Much cheaper due to the lower of the market value of the car.

Well, how is the stamp duty and transfer duty calculated?

I found this out as I was rather curious about it. This only happens in Western Australia context.

For Stamp Duty,They take 2.72% of the open market value of the car then add it with around AUD$11 for the transfer fee. That’s gives you the amount that you have got to pay to the government.

Spent $101.20 buying a new WA number plate for the car too. I split the cost 5050 with Shaun. The car number would be ‘JAW-888’. Since the car is not mine, I cannot put ‘NWQ-888’ lar… hahaha.. but it sounds good hor.. hmm.. but 7AD-931 is the original number issued to the car since 16.01.1985 man.. sigh.. feel so bad to change it. =(

I’m on the mid-semester break for this week. No class but have got to go for meetings a couple of times this week.

Since today we are free, my friends and myself decide to hold a mid-semester retreat BBQ @ swan river. So I chose the place where my mum used to live when she was here when I first came on Hurlingham Rd. Drake’s Apartments.

But it failed =( the BBQ pits don’t work at all. The plate do not even get hot man.. what is this. Make me waste a damn 3hrs there waiting just for a few chicken wings to be cooked. But it did not get cook man. Don’t actually know how it works.

the other that came where busy taking pictures… so only left a few of us for this place. But what the hell, the sign says ‘IN THE INTEREST OF WILDLIFE PRESERVATION, THE WILDLIFE FEEDING IS DISCOURAGED’… wuhahaha.. the birds came themselves.. so we fed them??? WTF man…

the view of swan river. I was there… NWQ was here!! =X

had a whole car boot full of drinks and food.

Since it failed, we decided that we should move back to EUH to cook. So true enough, we came back to BBQ the food. And so much better lar.. having lunch at 3pm lei.. what is this!!

the ladies were busy doing the cook while we guys sat down and chat lar..

IN ATTENDANCE: kit, pheng, Jamie, myself, simon, huiyin, joo bin, xin ying, gosh.. together with Shaun, Audrey and Lee Tong.

I realised I like to sit and take serious pics with my legs crossed =X

So what have I got to say about my day as well as my car?

I really enjoyed the day spent with my friends and hope the car would run fine with me till I leave next year. Good luck to ‘JAW-888’ =D the car plate would be out sometime next month…
